This guidance is for those who have responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of people at work or for the safe operation of a workplace. It provides guidance on the steps to take to try to manage risks without resorting to personal protective equipment (PPE) which should be used as a last resort. It includes details of specifc areas of risk and examples of the kind of PPE to consider using where the risk cannot be adequately controlled in other ways.
